Ashtanga with Lisa Tendler

Ashtanga with Lisa Tendler

Ashtanga is an ancient system of yoga that unites breath, focus points, and postures to create a concentrated meditative self practice. The practice is done with a set series of postures learned gradually over a period of time, in vinyasa style, creating internal heat to purify the body, improving circulation, for strong body and a calm mind. This class will sometimes deviate from the tradional sequence of the practice so come with an open mind and heart.

Awake in the World Book Study

How can we live a balanced life in unbalanced times?

In his book Awake in the World*, Micheal Stone describes how the practices of yoga and meditation are not about escaping reality but about living fully in the here and now, opening to our experience, and gaining access to stillness within the flow of life.

Join us for a 6 week book study as we explore Part 1 of this amazing book and practice together.     Each class will begin with a 30min practice of gentle movement, breathwork, and meditation followed by a group discussion exploring a chapter per week.

*Required Reading - Awake in the World by Micheal Stone

6 week series:

Mondays 7:00-8:15pm

Nov. 11th - Dec. 16th

Join us for a Kripalu-style practice of "yoga from the inside out." This grounding and centering, adaptive class can be done on a yoga mat or in a chair. The coordination of breath with gentle movement and the brief holding of poses will be our emphasis. The use of props is encouraged and modifications will always be offered. We incorporate meditation and relaxation at the beginning and end of class. Open to all levels, from absolute beginners to seasoned yogis, and those with physical limitations are also encouraged to attend.
